Vaisakhi

It is estimated that in the province of Rome live more than 20,000 people from Punjab and other regions of India, mainly practicing Sikhism.

During the Vaisakhi celebrations at Piazza Vittorio, the city transforms as this community takes to the streets. In a space usually defined by routine and the rhythms of everyday life, people come together to express a side of their identity that is rarely visible, filling the square with music, colour, and movement. Through these moments, the city itself feels different, a place temporarily reimagined by the people who inhabit it, revealing the layers of life and culture that coexist within it.
